Delegation example
Delegated User Management enables you to efficiently manage users by delegating administrative tasks close to them. For example, the administrator in a head office can delegate external users to manage their local groups and users. This reduces the head office's remote management responsibilities and empowers external partners to manage their resources directly.
In the following illustration, the head office administrator has delegated the management of an external partner's operations. The delegated manager is allowed to directly implement the external business users' needs, such as account creation/deletion and access to applications/services.
The user types/personas and capabilities associated with this example are listed in the following table.
User type (persona) | Capabilities |
---|---|
Administrator | Utilize all the capabilities of Delegated User Management. |
Delegated Manager | Manage other users' lifecycle and access roles. Import users and perform mass updates. |
Business User | Manage (self-service) own attributes, password, and mobile devices. |
