Product Description
The SafeNet Agent for Epic is a solution to enable strong Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Epic.
EPCS Compliance
Customers seeking to comply with the US Drug Enforcement Agency's (DEA) Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS) regulation, can demonstrate compliance using any edition of the SafeNet Authentication Service together with the SafeNet MobilePASS software tokens. When MobilePASS is installed on a separate mobile device (smartphone or tablet), the token becomes an EPCS compliant 'hard token'. Updated to extend the EPCS regulation cover for the SafeNet Agent for Epic, wherever appropriate.

SafeNet Agent for Epic 3.0.5

Improvement

- Details of the registry settings are now included in the Configuring Settings via Group Policy Object Editor section.
Limitation
For this release, the agent does not support Repair and Change functionality.

Renamed Agent
From this release onwards, the agent is renamed to SafeNet Agent for Epic. Henceforth, the application name within STA is renamed to Epic.
Hyperdrive Support
The SafeNet Agent for Epic 3.0.0 now supports Epic Hyperdrive in addition with Epic Hyperspace.
Certificate tab
A Certificate tab is added in the Epic Management Console that enables to upload the signing certificate. The certificate is used to sign the SAML token response generated when using with Epic Hyperdrive.

The SafeNet Agent for Epic is updated with the Thales branding.
Extended Operating System Support
The SafeNet Agent for Epic 3.0.0 now supports Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 (64-bit).

SafeNet Agent for Epic Hyperspace 2.0.0
This major new release allow customers to manage access to the Epic Hyperspace application through SafeNet Trusted Access (STA), and thus benefit from applying STA policy framework and scenario-based, contextual conditions. For users, it provides the value of extending the STA Single Sign-On (SSO) experience to the Epic Hyperspace, including Push Authentication.
Unlike earlier versions, the SafeNet Agent for Epic Hyperspace 2.0.0 for STA or SAS Cloud (integrated via Applications) is a scalable, customizable, and a more productive authentication solution. Although the look and feel of the agent is modernized, the set-up and ease in functionality remains. Critical application management and policy tasks, now handled at STA, ensures that the agent's manager console is reduced, resulting in better productivity and faster processing.
This general availability release offers new features, and resolves important issues since the previous release.
Push Authentication Support
The SafeNet Agent for Epic Hyperspace 2.0.0 supports Push OTP with MobilePASS+, when working with SAS Cloud and SAS PCE/ SPE versions.
Note
When logging on to the Epic Hyperspace with Push OTP, the user needs to enter Username, leave the Password field empty, and click Login. The user will then receive a prompt on their MobilePASS+ app, to accept or reject the logon request. On accepting the logon request, the user is logged on to the website.
Group Policy Settings
Group Policy settings of the SafeNet Agent for Epic Hyperspace can now be updated using Windows tools. Policy settings are stored in a Windows Administrative Template (ADMX) file, and can be configured using the steps:
- Adding ADMX file to Group Policy Object (GPO) Editor
- Configuring ADMX settings using GPO Editor

Smart Management Console
The process of installation ensures that the configuration file is placed at the agent installation folder. This enables the Epic Management Console to automatically pick the file, removing the need to manually upload it to manage configuration settings.
Security Enhancements
The SafeNet Agent for Epic Hyperspace 2.0.0 contains important security enhancements at infrastructure and agent level. Enabled by enhanced security, the agent solution delivers a more robust, and dependable authentication experience.
SafeNet Agent for Epic Hyperspace 1.1.0
This release includes an enhancement and resolves an issue since the previous release.
OTP Text and Message Text Fields
Two new text fields (Enter OTP Text and Enter Message Text) are added in the Configuration tab of the Epic Management Console, to allow customization of messages on the Epic OTP prompt window. Based on their deployed tokens, customers can control the messages, to make it clear and consistent with their enterprise terminologies.
