Disconnecting or Deleting a Virtual Smart Card

This feature allows only administrators to delete or disconnect one or more virtual smart cards. Perform the following steps to disconnect/delete a virtual smart card:

1. Right-click the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client tray icon. The SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client administrator tray menu opens.

2. Click John (the Administrator’s name) and select the smart card you want to Disconnect/Delete.
   Perform either one of the following:

   • Click Disconnect card – The smart card is removed from the smart card reader making the reader slot available.
     
     The following notification appears:
     

     Click Insert card to reconnect the virtual smart card that was disconnected.

     

   • Click Delete card - The smart card is permanently erased from the server and does not appear in the short-cut menu.
     

     After you click Delete card, the following notification appears:

     Click OK. The card is deleted and is no longer displayed in the list.

Card Personalization for Windows

This section describes the default values on the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Smart Card. It is recommended to modify the following default values (using either SAC or a 3^rd party CMS) before using their virtual smart cards:

• Admin Key - 00000000000000000000000000000000 (48 zeroes)

• User PIN - 000000 (6 zeroes)

• Minimum Length - 4

• Maximum Length - 16

• Change PIN on first logon – disabled

SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Smart Cards support:

• Only one user PIN

• Single-Sign-On (SSO) available only via Single Logon (SAC or SafeNet Minidriver with SAC service)
