Managing Cards Availability

Perform the following steps to manage the available virtual smart cards:

1. Click the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client Tray icon. The new option in the menu is displayed. .

2. Click Select virtual smart card to list the available cards.

   In case no already existing card, the first one is created. However, complementary card provision is not supported in this configuration and needs action from the Windows Client to do so.

3. Select the smart card you want to connect/disconnect. Following options are available on each card:

   • Connect – Connects the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual smart card to the server.
   • Disconnect – Disconnects the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual smart card.
     For example, card#1 & card#4 below are connected:
     
4. Click Exit to close the tray menu.

Card Personalization for Linux

This section describes the default values on the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Smart Card. It is recommended to modify the following default values (using either SAC or a 3rd party CMS) before using their virtual smart cards:

• Admin Key - 00000000000000000000000000000000 (48 zeroes)
• User PIN - 000000 (6 zeroes)
• Minimum Length - 4
• Maximum Length - 16
• Number of retries - 5
• Change PIN on first logon – disabled

SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Smart Cards support:

• Only one user PIN
