Use Cases and Applications

SafeNet IDPrime Virtual allows the users to securely access digital resources and authenticate their identities without the need for a physical smart card. It offers a cost-effective and flexible solution for organizations that require strong authentication and compliance with security regulations. With SafeNet IDPrime Virtual, users can access their credentials on Windows and Linux devices with internet connectivity, and organizations can manage user access and revoke credentials remotely. This solution is particularly useful for remote workers and cloud-based applications where traditional physical smart cards may not be practical.

SafeNet IDPrime Virtual has the following use case:

1. Use of Multi-Factor Authentication for loading end-user’s smartcard and use of HSM to protect private keys for the user.
2. User centric approach (keys follow the user to the selected device) with additional flexibility to use device centric approach (downloads keys to TPM).
3. Basic CMS capabilities via Middleware (SAC) using (Admin On Behalf Smartcard provisioning) and APIs (Smartcard Provisioning including import and OBKG).
4. Desktop Clients (Windows /Linux) and Credential Provider (Windows) and SDK for partners to load smartcards.

5. Offers integrations with:

   1. CMS providers using CAPI, PKCS11 or APIs.
   2. OIDC compatible IDPs.
   3. PKCS11 compatible HSMs

6. Digital Signature Support and APIs for integration.

7. Support for Android via partner app and Mobile API for integration.
