payShield Cloud HSM Configuration/Subscription Options

The following are the various configuration options to choose from when you place your initial order for a cloud HSM:

• Subscription types

  • Trial

  • Production : Plans vailable in the Production tier include Silver, Gold and Platinum

Upgrades from Silver to Gold and Gold to Platinum are supported for users requiring either extra LMK capacity or enhanced performance.

• Length of subscription term

  • Trial tier up to 6 months
  • Production tier is a minimum of 36 months

• Location of datacenter – various locations to choose from e.g., US-East

All options can utilize the standard base software or custom software based on v1.5a or later.

It is advised to analyze how many subscriptions are required to cover your resilience, backup, and disaster recovery needs. Each cloud HSM is totally independent and therefore the calculation is similar to what you would perform today for establishing an on-prem HSM estate.

There is no current capability to downgrade a subscription within the current subscription period. Also, no LMK upgrades are available within a subscription – you need to purchase the relevant tier with the appropriate number of LMKs to satisfy your specific needs.
