Universal Client Supported Versions with Luna Cloud HSM
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish the support period for Universal Client versions used with the Luna Cloud HSM service. When a client version reaches the end of support date listed in the table below, it is no longer guaranteed to work with the Cloud HSM service and technical support will no longer be offered. This policy is required because the firmware and software running the service is regularly updated with new capabilities and features for users.
This policy is specific to Universal Client, supported by the Cloud HSM Service. It does not cover the End of Life for Universal Client versions as the Universal Client is used with other Luna HSM products, such as the Luna Network HSM.
Benefits for users
Part of the shared responsibility of using the Luna Cloud HSM service is for users to periodically upgrade their client. Thales will always ensure that the service is backwards compatible with all supported client versions.
Benefits of upgrading include:
- Use the Latest Features
- Security Patches and Bug Fixes
- Performance Improvements
- Compatibility with firmware and supporting components on the service
- Additional OS support
