Viewing GuardPoints
The Status Bar on the GuardPoints tab of a client shows the total number of GuardPoints on the client, and inactive, disabled, active, and unknown GuardPoints. The Status Bar contains the following tabs:
Total GuardPoints : Shows the total number of GuardPoints with all types of health status.Inactive : Shows the number of inactive GuardPoints. An inactive GuardPoint is enabled but not yet applied.Disabled : Shows the number of disabled GuardPoints. The CTE client does not enforce protection on disabled GuardPoints. However, references to the GuardPoints exist in the CipherTrust Manager configuration.Active : Shows the number of active GuardPoints. An active GuardPoint is deployed successfully and connection to the CTE Agent is healthy. The CTE client enforces protection on active GuardPoints.Unknown : Shows the number of GuardPoints whose status is unclear.
Click each tab to filter the GuardPoints. The GuardPoints list displays details of the GuardPoints on the client.
To view the GuardPoints created on a client:
Open the Transparent Encryption application.
Click Clients > Clients.
Under Client Name, click the desired client. The GuardPoints tab shows the GuardPoints configured on the client.
The GuardPoints list shows the following details:
Column Description Status Status of the GuardPoint. The status can be:
• Inactive
• Disabled
• Active
• Unknown
A statusProcessing
is displayed for a brief period until an operation on the GuardPoint completes.Policy Name Policy applied to the GuardPoint. Protected Path Path of the protected directory. Type Type of the GuardPoint. For Ransomware GuardPoints, the type is Ransomware Protection. LDT Group Role Whether the client is the primary or secondary node for this GuardPoint in the linked LDT communication group.
The values can be:
• Primary
• Secondary
• N/A: Displayed for clients that are not associated with an LDT communication group. N/A is also displayed for clients that do not share an NFS/CIFS path in an LDT communication group.
When the primary node is down, another client is automatically assigned the primary role.
Refer to Managing LDT Communication Groups for details on LDT communication groups.SMB Connection (Applicable to LDT over SMB GuardPoints, Windows clients) Name of the linked SMB connection. Client Group Origin of the GuardPoint. The origin can be the client itself or its client group. Filter the results by:
• Client: GuardPoint is created on the client. A hyphen (-
) indicates the GuardPoint is applied to the client itself.
• Client Group: GuardPoint is applied through the client's client group. Name of the linked client group is displayed.Rekey Status Rekey status of the GuardPoint. Enabled Whether the GuardPoint is enabled. LDT Progress (Applicable to LDT GuardPoints) Progress of LDT. Rekeyed is displayed when LDT is complete. N/A is displayed for non-LDT GuardPoints. Native Domain Domain where the GuardPoint is created on the shared client.
