Create IDP Adapters

PingFederate uses IDP Adapter for session information and user identification. We create a new IDP Adapter of HTML Form IDP Adapter type.

Perform the following steps to create an IDP adapter:

1. Go to Authentication > IDP Adapters > Create New Instance.

2. Enter the required values, and select HTML Form IDP Adapter from the TYPE drop-down list.

   

3. Under the IDP Adapter tab, click Add a new row to 'Credential Validators' and add LDAP Username password Credential Validator created previously in Configuring Password Credential Validators, and then click Update.

   • Select the Session State to Globally and keep the rest settings default.

   

4. Under the Extended Contract tab, add the required extended attributes.

   • email
   • groups
   • preferred_username

   

5. Under the Adapter Attributes tab, select the Pseudonym check box for the username attribute, and then click Next.

   

6. Under the Adapter Contract Mapping tab, click Configure Adapter Contract.

   

   1. Under the Attribute Sources & User Lookup tab, skip adding Attribute Source and click Next.
   2. Under the Adapter Contract Fulfillment tab, map Adapteras Source for all attributes, and then click Next.
   3. Under the Issuance Criteria tab, skip mapping and click Next.
   4. Click Next and Save. The Summary page is displayed.

7. Click Next and Save.
