Changing Passwords
This section describes how to change the Application Administrator's initial password, if needed, and the more general case of changing the password for a user.
Changing the Application Administrator's initial password using the GUI
In most cases, you do not need to change the Application Administrator's initial password, and you log in through Data Protection on Demand (DPoD), as described in Get Started with CipherTrust Data Security Platform Services.
If the CDSPaaS service was provisioned through the DPoD API with POST /v1/service_instances/
, the default Application Administrator is "admin", with the temporary password as specified. This initial password must be changed before using the CipherTrust Data Security Platform Service.
To change the Application Administrators initial password using the GUI
-
Login as user "admin" using the temporary password specified during API service creation.
-
Change the temporary password immediately, as prompted. Failure to do so could allow an attacker to compromise the system.
