Tokenization Setup Workflow in CT-VL GUI
Although the CT-VL GUI does not constrain you to one particular implementation path, one logical sequence is:
Specify the CM Keys for Tokenization (must be symmetric keys).
Create Tokenization Groups and associate it with the appropriate key(s).
Create custom character sets as needed (optional).
Create a data mask for dekotenization.
Create tokenization templates and associate the applicable tokenization group and character set.
Create users and user groups, assigning a data mask from the drop-down menu.
Grant tokenization privileges to users and user groups by going to their permissions page, selecting the symmetric key associated with the appropriate tokenization group, and checking the Tokenize box.
Grant detokenization privileges to users and user groups in the same way.
Note
See Other (non-key dependent) permissions for an explanation of the Tokenize/Detokenize check boxes listed under "Other Permissions" in the Permissions matrix. This feature is included primarily for legacy and upgrade purposes.
