Upgrading CAKM for Oracle TDE Provider

This section is applicable to upgrading CAKM for Oracle TDE.

While upgrading, all the properties from the configuration files are copied to the newly installed configuration file including IP address, Port, Protocol, and Certificate configuration. However, you can still generate new certificates using 'Generate new certificates' option (UPDATE_CONFIGURATION in Silent installation).

If the value of 'Generate new certificates' option (UPDATE_CONFIGURATION in Silent installation) is set to Yes, installer will allow you to update parameters in the configuration file including IP address, Port, Protocol, and Certificate configuration.

You will only get Generate new certificates option if you are already using SSL as Server Protocol.

Note

• The valid value for the UPDATE_CONFIGURATION (in Silent installation) parameter is Y or N.

• The default value of UPDATE_CONFIGURATION is set to N.

In case, tier properties are found in the previous versioned configuration file, the installer will not provide the option to generate new certificates or update configuration (in silent installation).

From version 8.10.0 to higher version
