Users
A user refers to the person who utilizes or administers a Data Protection on Demand platform instance or any of its available Services. There are three types of users in the DPoD role hierarchy:
- Service Provider Administrators - A role in DPoD responsible for managing and distributing additional DPoD tenants.
- Tenant Administrators - A role in DPoD responsible for managing a subscriber tenant and distributing cryptographic resources in the form of services to application owners.
- Application Owners - A role in DPoD responsible for managing cryptographic services, and consuming cryptographic resources in a subscriber tenant.
DPoD administrators are responsible for adding users, resetting user credentials, and removing inactive users. They can access User Details from the DPoD GUI.
Service provider administrators can manage any tenant administrators, sub-service provider administrators, and additional service provider administrators created for assistance with tenant management. See User Details for more information.
Tenant administrators manage a subscriber tenant, access and consume services, manage any application owners consuming services in the subscriber tenant, and manage additional tenant administrators created for assistance with tenant management. See User Details for more information.
For more information about platform role password requirements see the Platform Role Password Policy.
