Enabling VMware KMIP Connection
To enable the connection between VMWare client and KMIP create the following objects:
Create a client profile
To create a new client profile:
Log on to the CipherTrust Manager as a domain administrator of the KMIP domain
(KMIP_domain||KMIP_admin)
.Select the KMIP menu from the main dashboard.
Click Client Profile from the left sidebar and click Add Profile.
Enter
KMIP_domain||KMIP_user
as the Common Name.Click Save.
Create a Registration Token
To create a new registration token:
Log on to the CipherTrust Manager as a domain administrator of the KMIP domain
(KMIP_domain||KMIP_admin)
.Click Registration Token from the left sidebar and then click New Registration Token.
Under Configure Token menu, specify Name Prefix.
Under Select CA menu, select Local CAs.
Under Select Profile menu, select the profile.
Copy the generated token from Create Token menu.
Create a Registered Client
To create a registered client:
Log on to the CipherTrust Manager as a domain administrator of the KMIP domain
(KMIP_domain||KMIP_admin)
.From the left sidebar, click Registered Clients and then click Add Client.
Enter the name and token string copied in step 6 of Create a Registration Token section.
Click Save Private Key and then click Save Certificate.
After configuring the VMware KMIP connection, you need to register the KMIP client. For more details, refer to Registering KMIP Client.
