Migrating Vault from Source Database to Target Database
This page describes the steps to migrate a vault from a source database, which is the current vault that stores the data, to a target database. The target database will have the new vault that will receive the migrated data. You can choose any supported database type for the source and target vaults. See Supported Databases for more information.
Perform the following steps:
Create a backup of CT-V JAR, properties, and other files present in the installation directory.
Create a backup of the data in source database vault.
Install and configure CT-V with the target database properties.
Create a vault on the target database using the CT-V utilities.
Note
When creating the target database vault, use the same keys that were used to create the source database vault.
Migrate the data from the source database vault to the target database vault using any standard data migration utility of your choice.
After migrating the data, verify that the newly installed CT-V properties files point to the target database vault.
Restart the server if newly installed CT-V is installed as web service.
Run a CT-V sample to verify proper functionality.
After migration, you can detokenize the data that was tokenized using the original CT‑V setup.
