Creating User and Keys on the CipherTrust Manager

Creating User

To create a user on the CipherTrust Manager:

1. Log on to the CipherTrust Manager GUI.

2. Open the Keys & Access Management application.

3. In the left pane, click Users. The Users page is displayed.

4. On the Users page, click Create New User.

5. On the Create a New User screen provide the following details:

   • Enter Username.

   • Enter Password.

6. Click Create.

   The newly created user is listed on the Users page.

Creating Keys

To create keys on the CipherTrust Manager:

1. Log on to the CipherTrust Manager GUI.

2. Open the Keys & Access Management application.

3. In the left pane, click Keys. The Keys page is displayed.

4. On the Keys page, click Create a New Key and enter/ select the following details:

   • Enter a Key Name.

   • Select Algorithm. Supported options are: AES and HMAC-SHA256.

   • Select Size. Supported size is 256.

   • In the Key Metadata section, select the Key Owner.

   • Add the key to the desired group.

   • If creating an AES -256 bit key, select the Set as "Versioned Key" for backward compatibility check-box.

   • In the Key Properties section, select the operations the key will perform.

     • For AES keys, supported operations are: Encrypt and Decrypt.

     • For HMAC-SHA256 keys, supported operations are: Generate MAC and Verify MAC.

5. Click Create.

   The newly created keys are listed on the Keys page.
