Deploy New Thales Data Platform

Changing the Initial Password

Changing the Initial Password

The username of the initial Thales Data Platform user is "admin". This user becomes the initial Application Administrator. By default, the initial password is hardcoded to "admin" in lowercase. You can also auto-generate a password using cloud init. Regardless of whether the initial password is hardcoded or auto-generated, it must be changed before using the Thales Data Platform.

You should perform this step through ssh/putty because a private key will be generated and you will need to copy-and-paste it from the terminal to a file. You need the public hostname of the TDP instance (in VMware or AWS), to be able to ssh to it.

The initial root credentials for the image are:

Login: root

Password: thales123

The user will be prompted to change the root password after the initial login.
