Quick Start

This section describes the installation process and configuration of the CAKM provider.

Prerequisites

• Ensure that the CipherTrust Manager is installed and configured. For more details, refer to the CipherTrust Manager documentation.

• Ensure that Microsoft SQL Server EKM is installed and configured. Refer to the Microsoft Documentation for more information.

• CAKM communicates with the CipherTrust Manager using the Network Attached Encryption (NAE)-XML Interface. Ensure that the NAE-XML interface is configured and the port configured on NAE-XML interface is accessible from EKM machine. Refer to the CipherTrust Manager Documentation for more details.

Install, Upgrade, and Configure the Provider

1. Install CAKM for Microsoft SQL Server EKM Provider

2. Upgrade CAKM for Microsoft SQL Server EKM Provider

3. Configure Provider and Logs

After completing the above steps, you can:

• Use CAKM for Microsoft SQL Server EKM Provider

• Use CAKM for Microsoft SQL Server EKM Provider with Database Backup Encryption

• Use CAKM for Microsoft SQL Server EKM Provider with Transparent Database Encryption
