Product Description

ProtectApp Linux Unified Key Setup (LUKS) Provider is a platform-independent standard on-disk format that can be used in various tools. This facilitates compatibility and interoperability among different programs.

Release Description

This release of ProtectApp LUKS includes the new features and enhancements listed below.

Features and Enhancements

  • Support of key rotation (versioned key)

  • OpenSSL Upgrade: The OpenSSL version used by ProtectApp LUKS is upgraded to 3.0.8

  • Supported TLS: Added support of TLSv1.3

Supported CipherTrust Manager

ProtectApp LUKS 8.6.0 is compatible with CipherTrust Manager 2.10.2 and above.

Supported Platforms

ProtectApp LUKS is supported on the following platforms.

Oracle Linux

  • Oracle Linux 8.x (Validated with OEL 8.6)

  • Oracle Linux 7.x (Validated with OEL 7.9)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.x (Validated with RHEL 9.5)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x (Validated with RHEL 8.8)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x (Validated with RHEL 7.9)

Limitation

  • The CipherTrust Manager supports only one authentication mode (either User based authentication mode or passwordless certificate based authentication mode) at a time.

  • Support for multiple keys is not yet tested with ProtectApp LUKS.
