Product Description

CDP for Teradata VCL is a data protection solution for Teradata VantageCloud Lake (VCL). It provides User Defined Functions (UDFs) to protect and reveal sensitive business data in database table columns. Format-preserving encryption is used to retain the original format of business data, for example, credit card or social security number, so as not to break compatibility with database analytical services that require the business data in its original format.

CDP for Teradata VCL is a vaultless solution and uses algorithms to protect business data. It requires the CipherTrust Manager for its operation. CDP for Teradata VCL uses protection policy to protect data. A protection policy defines the encryption algorithm and cryptographic key to protect data. Access to the protected data can be controlled using access policy. Access policy specifies the default and specific reveal formats for various user groups.
