Setting up Character Encoding in the Policy
Note
Character encoding is mandatory only for the Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code (EBCDIC)-encoded files.
The supported encodings are listed in the linked table with the following caveats:
The naming from either columns in the table Canonical Name for
java.nio
API and Canonical Name forjava.io
API andjava.lang
API can be used.The input file must use the same character encoding. Failed record files are created with the same character encoding. Output file encoding can vary, depending on configurations in the policy file.
