Trial Evaluation
A 90-day trial evaluation is available for Virtual CipherTrust Managers. This is beneficial for trying out features when a new instance is launched in Community Edition.
The trial evaluation on Virtual CipherTrust Manager instances includes the following licenses:
Virtual CipherTrust Manager
Note
The Virtual CipherTrust Manager license allows full access to licensed administration features.
Cloud Key Manager
KMIP Clients
Data Discovery and Classification
CipherTrust Transparent Encryption
CipherTrust Live Data Transformation
CipherTrust Transparent Encryption for Kubernetes
Application Data Protection
Data Protection Gateway
ProtectFile
Trial License Period
All trial licenses expire 90 days after you first start the trial evaluation. The original 90 day expiry applies if you start, stop, and re-start the trial. The original expiration date also applies if you upgrade the CipherTrust Manager to a new firmware version.
You can apply full licenses any time before, during, or after the trial period. When a valid, purchased license is activated, the trial evaluation expiring or stopping has no effect on the purchased license, and all the associated features are still available. If you do not apply a purchased Virtual CipherTrust Manager license, and the trial evaluation expires or is stopped, the instance goes into Community Edition.
After you apply a purchased Virtual CipherTrust Manager license, you cannot enable or disable the trial evaluation through the web console, only through CLI or API.
If you reset a CipherTrust Manager during a 90-day trial evaluation, all Connector licenses are removed but the Virtual CipherTrust Manager license remains. You can re-start the trial for the connector licenses, but the original expiry date from before reset applies.
