Getting started
SafeNet Trusted Access (STA) is an enterprise-class access management and authentication service. It is designed to allow you to implement centralized access and authentication controls for a variety of applications, including cloud-based applications, on-premise web applications, and RADIUS-integrated applications.
STA allows you to extend authentication services to users in a single organization or across an unlimited number of entities. These entities can be almost anything, from divisions or cost centers within a company, to subsidiaries or completely independent organizations.
STA extends authentication services beyond the corporate perimeter, and uses centralized access policies to protect your business applications. The access policies provide different behavior based on the context of which application is accessed and who is accessing the application.
Use STA to define policies, configure applications, and monitor access activity. With STA, you can configure a global policy that determines how access requests for all applications are applied to all users. In addition, you can add exception policies for specific groups of users and applications.
STA allows you to integrate your applications through industry-recognized Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), OpenID Connect (OIDC), and Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocols. It also offers agent-based integration for specific on-premise applications, and an authentication API for custom integrations.
While authentication methods and interoperability are key features, there is also a strong focus in STA on using automation to simplify and streamline user and authentication management, driving the cost of service delivery significantly lower. Other key features include:
- Workflow Automation—Easy-to-configure policies and rules that can manage users, provisioning tasks, access control, and much more based on changes in LDAP.
-
Branding— Customization of all user-facing emails, web pages, and alerts.
-
Billing— Flexible inter- and intra-company billing for services.
STA includes workflow automation and management tools that can reduce your on-boarding and management costs to near zero. For example, by combining LDAP synchronization with provisioning rules, each time you add a user in your LDAP server, STA automatically creates the user account in your virtual server and provisions the user with a token.
