Removing a Service from CCC
When a service is no longer needed in your organization’s cryptographic infrastructure, Crypto Command Center allows you to either delete the service or detach it from the system.
Deleting a service is a permanent action. It removes the service entirely from Crypto Command Center, including any associated partitions and the cryptographic objects stored within them. This action requires authentication as the HSM Security Officer.
Detaching a service, by contrast, is a non-destructive operation. It simply removes the service reference from the Crypto Command Center database, while leaving the service, partitions, and stored objects intact on the HSM. This is useful when you want to remove the service from view but retain the option to re-import it later.
Choose the appropriate action based on whether the service is being retired permanently or only removed temporarily.
