vreset

You can use the vreset command to reset a Luna PCI-E HSM that has become unresponsive, without having to reboot the host computer.

Syntax

vreset [<device>]

Parameter Description
<device>

Specifies the handle of the device that you want to reset. This parameter is not required if you have only one Luna PCI-E HSM installed in the host computer, and is optional if you have multiple Luna PCI-E HSMs installed.

If you have multiple Luna  PCI-E HSMs installed, you can use this parameter to specify which HSM to reset, as follows:

/dev/viper0 - reset the first Luna PCI-E HSM listed by the slot list command.

/dev/viper1 - reset the second Luna  PCI-E HSM listed by the slot list command.

/dev/viper2 - reset the third Luna PCI-E HSM listed by the slot list command.

If you have multiple Luna PCI-E HSMs installed, and do not specify this parameter, then the first Luna PCI-E HSM listed by the slot list command is reset.
