Service Elections

DPoD services are created in the evaluation state, a free 30 day trial evaluation of a DPoD Service. Subscriber Tenants are not charged for trial services. To purchase a service the subscriber tenant tenant administrator must submit the Initial Service Elections Form to their Service Provider. To purchase additional services tenant administrators can optionally complete an Add Service Elections Form at any time.

If you created your subscriber tenant through an external marketplace purchasing additional services can be completed through that marketplace.

In a service elections form the tenant administrator selects the quantity and types of services that the subscriber tenant users will use in the tenant over a specified term. The service elections form is submitted to the service provider administrator for approval or rejection. When a form is accepted only the associated account numbers, service values, and the terms for the service are stored in a database. When a form is rejected the failed agreement is deleted from the database. DPoD does not archive any information from rejected service elections forms.

Be aware of the following when using DPoD:

  • Tenant administrators and application owners can provision services that are not selected in a service elections form and the subscriber tenant will be charged for those services.
  • Tenants are charged for services that are never provisioned, but are selected in a service elections form.
  • If the service elections form is unavailable or expired, then Tenants are billed monthly. When the fixed service elections term expires and no new service elections term is set, tenants are switched to monthly billing.

Service provider administrators do not need to submit an initial elections form. Service provider agreements are created out-of-band between the service provider administrator and their distributor, whether the distributor is Thales or another service provider. Service provider administrators must be registered with Thales or another service provider before they can accept an initial service elections form or additional service elections forms from their child tenants.

Initial Service Elections Form

The Tenant Administrator submits an Initial Service Elections form to their Service Provider Administrator to purchase services. Tenants cannot purchase services until the tenant administrator has submitted the initial elections form and the service provider has accepted the elections. The Initial Service Elections form demonstrates a minimum service commitment to the service provider.

Access the Initial Service Elections form by clicking the Become a Subscriber button on the banner in the tenant user interface.

Add Service Elections Form

Access the Add Service Elections form by clicking the tenant administrator name in the upper right corner of the DPoD GUI and selecting Add Service Elections or clicking Create Service on a service tile. Currently, the Add Service Elections form redirects the tenant administrator, outside of the DPoD GUI, to a secure Thales web form.

The Tenant Administrator submits an Add Service Elections form to purchase additional services. The Add Service Elections form demonstrates additional service commitment to the service provider. The Add Service Elections is a separate commitment from the Initial Service Elections form.

The Add Service Elections form is only available to the tenant after submission and acceptance of the Initial Service Elections Form. Access the Add Service Elections form by clicking the tenant administrator name in the upper right corner of the DPoD GUI and selecting Add Service Elections.
