Installing the ProtectApp LUKS Provider

The installer is provided as a tar file:

• protectapp_luks_v8.6.0.000-001_RHEL7.tar (for OEL 7.9)

• protectapp_luks_v8.6.0.000-001_RHEL8.tar (for OEL 8.6)

Creating a Backup

If you are already using ProtectApp LUKS Provider, installing the latest ProtectApp LUKS Provider will replace the integrated binaries with new ProtectApp LUKS binaries. This process will disable the integrated functionalities and create a backup of the following in their respective locations:

• Configuration files

• Previously installed binaries

• Libraries

Installation

To install ProtectApp LUKS Provider:

1. Extract ProtectApp LUKS Provider package using the following command:

   tar –xvf protectapp_luks_v8.6.0.000-001_xxx.tar
   

2. After executing the above command, a folder (icapi_luks) with the following installation files is created:

   • libcryptsetup.so.12.6.0

   • cryptsetup

   • cryptsetup-reencrypt

   • libICAPI.so-8.6.0.001

   • ks_config

   • ks_user_config

   • install.sh

3. Execute install.sh to complete the installation.
