VPTD to CTP
Prerequisites
- Data Security Manager (DSM) is up and running at the supported version. Refer to DSM documentation for details. 
- A supported Vormetric Protection for Teradata Databases (VPTD) version is configured with a supported DSM version. Refer to the VPTD documentation for details. 
- CipherTrust Manager is up and running a supported version. Refer to CipherTrust Manager Deployment for details. 
Note
If you are running an unsupported version, upgrade your environment to the supported version before proceeding. Refer to the corresponding product documentation for upgrade instructions.

Migration Steps
- Migrate your DSM to a supported CipherTrust Manager version. Refer to Migrate from Data Security Manager for details. 
- Upgrade CTP on each Teradata node. During the upgrade, update the configuration file to use CADP for C and CipherTrust Manager. Refer to Installing and Deploying CTP for details. - Note - In the Teradata cluster, make sure every node is running the same CTP version and points to the same cluster of CipherTrust Managers. 
- Reregister each CTP node to work with the CipherTrust Manager. To do so, run the - register_hostscript again and select to register with the CipherTrust Manager.
- Restart the Teradata database. - Note - No need to re-encrypt data on the actual database.
