ProtectApp ICAPI to CADP for C
Prerequisites
- KeySecure Classic is up and running at a supported version. Refer to the KeySecure Classic documentation for details. 
- A supported version of ProtectApp (PA) ICAPI is configured. 
- CipherTrust Manager is up and running at a supported version. Refer to CipherTrust Manager Deployment for details. 
- GCC version 4.1.2 and higher.

Note
On Linux and Unix platforms, you can directly upgrade from any lower version of ProtectApp ICAPI to CADP for C.
Limitations
- On Windows, you cannot directly upgrade from 8.5.0 and lower versions to: - ProtectApp ICAPI 8.6.1 and higher versions 
- CADP CAPI 8.12.1 and higher versions 
- CADP for C 8.14.0 and higher versions 
 - Workaround: Uninstall older version (8.5.0) and install higher version of ProtectApp ICAPI (8.12.0) or CADP CAPI (8.12.1). 
- CADP CAPI 8.12.1 onward, the FIPS mode is not supported. Therefore, the - FIPS_Modeconfiguration is removed from the properties file.
- On Linux, you cannot directly upgrade from 8.5.0 and lower versions to: - CADP for C 8.14.0 and higher versions 
 Workaround: Uninstall older version (8.5.0) and install higher version of CADP for C (8.14.0).
 
- CADP for C 8.14.0 and higher versions 
Migration Steps
- Upgrade KeySecure Classic to the minimum version of the CipherTrust Manager supported by CADP for C (view Supported Versions for details). 
 Refer to Migrating KeySecure Classic Data to a CipherTrust Manager Appliance for details.
- Configure the - NAE_IP.1parameter with the CipherTrust Manager's IP in the- CADP_CAPI.propertiesfile in your application.
- Verify your ProtectApp ICAPI client with CipherTrust Manager. 
- Install the latest version of CADP for C. For installation instructions, refer to the "Setting up CADP CAPI" chapter of the CipherTrust Application Data Protection CAPI User Guide.
